| How to configure XP to access Aardvaak 1. Start up your laptop and plug the modem into the telephone wall socket 2. Go to START, CONTROL PANEL and double click on NETWORK CONNECTIONS 3. Click on NEW CONNECTION WIZARD 4. Click NEXT 5. Select CONNECT TO THE INTERNET and click NEXT 6. Select SETUP MY CONNECTION MANUALLY and click NEXT 7. Select CONNECT USING A DIALUP MODEM and click NEXT 8. Enter AARDVAAK GUEST as the ISP name and click NEXT 9. Enter 0845 662 1109 as the phone number and click NEXT 10. Enter guest as the username and guest as the password and confirm password 11. Tick the top 2 boxes and leave the bottom box unticked and click NEXT 12. Check the box that says ADD A SHORTCUT TO THE DESKTOP and click FINISH The only issue might be that it also asks you to select your modem part way through this but that should be self-explanatory. You should now have Internet access setup - you can now open up your Web Browser and visit http://www.aardvaak.net Click on the Signup link and fill in the form to create your own account with EMail and Webspace etc. After successful signup you will see a button labelled AUTO CONFIGURE - click this and either RUN it from the page or SAVE it to your PC. If you decide to SAVE it you should locate the file and double click on it to run it and configure your Internet connection. Save the file to a floppy disk for safe keeping in case you lose your settings (disk reformat etc) in the future.
